Inexpensive Airguide Compasses on the R1100/1150RT
On cloudy days and at night I sometimes lose my bearings while riding back roads. The inexpensive solution? See the photos below.
Left photo above: An Airguide compass, available at most auto supply and hardware stores, mounts nicely on an R1100RT. Two black automobile trim screws hold it on securely.
Right photo above: The same compass mounts even more readily on the R1150RT, using an existing trim screw and double-sided mounting tape.
Be sure to calibrate the compass in accordance with the directions that come with it. If you do that, it is pretty accurate. At least it tells you if you are facing north, east, south, or west!
